Company History
POS Resources was founded as Sacramento Business Machines in 1974 by Eugene Norman. The company sold typewriters, adding machines, and cash registers. Cash registers became the primary emphasis, and the company evolved into an industry leader in Point of Sale Systems by the mid 1980's, taking the name POS Resources. Early on, a business partnership was formed with IBM, and that relationship continues today. Over the subsequent years POS Resources grew it's business relationships with larger chain retail and hospitality companies. Those relationships continue today, with Gene's son, Kirk Norman, at the helm.
